M-LOK works over a wider material thickness range than Keymod.
Here are a few M-LOK advantages over Keymod off the top of my head M-LOK just updates the MOE standard with a TDP that is open to all manufactures and was designed from the outset to be utilized on metal, polymer or carbon fiber mounting surfaces. M-LOK is backwards compatible with MOE accessories and is more versatile and easier to manufacture than either MOE slots or Keymod. Why MLOK over KeyMod? The mounting design is pretty solid and the two screws generate plenty of clamping force to hold the handguard in position. That feature will not maintain precise alignment of the handguard whether it's old or new style.
Their anti rotation feature, both old and new, is just a last resort to keep the handguard from spinning if it comes loose from the barrel nut. I'm back at SLR rifleworks with their Solo Lite, which is in stock offered is a 7.25' both Mlok and KeyMod. MI had the Gen II SS in 7", but then I realized its not really an mlok. I was disappointed to see that Geissele didn't, theirs looked EXTREMELY nice. None of them have a 7" (or close to it) Keymod or Mlok. Heck it's going to get a set of MBUS Pros on it eventually since my husband wants his ARMS #40 back at some point :oĬhecked with Geissele Automatics, BCM and MI. Kinda a shame really, I like there other products. is defiantly not even a consideration, no interest in a plastic handguard.
